The key item considered in the analysis of the income statement is the revenue. Concerning AMEC plc, the revenue levels in the year 2012 and 2013 were à £ 4,088 million and à £ 3,974 million respectively. The companyââ¬â¢s revenue decreased by 2.789% between the periods (Annual report: AMEC plc 2013, pp. 94). Comparatively, the revenue levels for Carillion plc for the same period were à £ 4,402.8 million and 4,080.9 million. The companyââ¬â¢s revenue decreased by 7.311% between the two periods.
